Happy Mother’s Day

As Mother’s Day is around the corner, Dreamland hopes you Happy Mother’s Day and everything goes well.

On the second Sunday of May every year, mothers often receive various presents and flowers. Carnations are considered mother flowers, while the mother flower is Hemerocallis in China.

Mother's Day was initiated by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, unmarried and childless, born in America. Anna Jarvis was deeply saddened by the tragic death of her mother on May 9, 1906. On the anniversary of his mother's death the following year, Jarvis wrote to the Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia, where her mother served the church's Sunday school for more than 20 years, requesting a special memorial service for her mother. With an enthusiastic response highly being received, her appeal caused countries around the world to follow suit.

On May 10, 1913, passing a resolution proclaiming Mother's Day the second Sunday of May, was signed by President Wilson.
